Windows file system destination options
Option Description

Connection string

Type a valid connection string to an existing external OLE DB database where you want the document properties to be stored. For information about creating a connection string, see Data Connections, Data Sources, and Connection Strings (SSRS) on Microsoft TechNet.

Note    The data source needs to support searching. Simple data sources like text files are therefore not supported. Use the XML file option instead.

User name

Account name used to connect to the database specified in Connection string with sufficient privileges to create and update records.

Password

Password for the account specified in User name. Click Test Connection to verify the connection.

Table

Name of an existing table in the database specified in Connection string.

Note    This table must define a column for Path column and each property specified in step 9 at a minimum.

Path column

Name of an existing column in the database specified in Connection string. The data type must be String.
  1. Specify the document properties to export to the XML file or database:
    1. Click Add. A new row is added to the properties list.
    2. In the Name column, edit the property name to match that of the XML file or database. You map the source property names to these names on the Mapping tab as described in Configuring the document property mappings.

Note    Property names must not contain spaces.

    3. In the Type column, select a different data type from the list, if necessary. The data type should match that of the source system and destination database (if applicable).
    4. Repeat steps a to c for each property that you want to add.
    5. To remove a document property from the XML file or database:

      • Select the row of the property that you want to remove and click Remove.
  2. Click Save to save your changes.
